Chitwan: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Kulman Ghising, who also holds the portfolio of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport and Urban Development, announced that the government will terminate the contracts of construction companies that fail to deliver on time.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister Ghising made this statement while addressing an interaction programme organised by the Chitwan Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He highlighted that there are over three thousand road and bridge contracts currently in progress, and in some cases, the contractors remain unidentified. The Minister emphasized that under such circumstances, the government is compelled to either ensure the completion of the work or terminate the contracts.
Discussing the upcoming election scheduled for March 5, 2026, Minister Ghising expressed that the government formed after the election should introduce new faces with fresh visions. He stressed the importance of leadership capable of guiding the country towards prosperity and implementing substantial transformations.
