Lalitpur: Minister for Communication and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel has announced that the provision for e-voting should be arranged in the upcoming election if national and political consensus is forged. Addressing the CAN B2B Summit 2025 organized by the Federation of Computer Association Nepal (CAN-Federation) in Lalitpur on Saturday, Minister Kharel emphasized the importance of leveraging information technology to facilitate e-voting, noting its cost-effectiveness.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister Kharel highlighted the necessity of embracing technology in the current age of digital transformation. He stressed that pressure should be applied from all sides to ensure the successful implementation of e-voting mechanisms.
During the event, Minister Kharel also mentioned that the government has completed all preparations to hold the House of Representatives elections on March 5, aligning with the aspirations of the Gen-Z Movement. He acknowledged the increasing demand for digital solutions in the electoral process.
