Makwanpur: Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, Indra Bahadur Baniya, has called for heightened attention to environmental conservation as projects related to physical infrastructure move forward. He emphasized this during a program organized by the Nepali Congress Makwanpur chapter and Manahari committee at Manahari in the district.
According to National News Agency Nepal, CM Baniya highlighted the importance of local levels being more vigilant in safeguarding the ecology, which is crucial for the well-being of both humans and wildlife. He also mentioned that the provincial government is willing to amend laws and policies to foster good governance and create a corruption-free society.
CM Baniya further stressed the need for collaboration in creating an environment conducive to the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) election scheduled for March 5, 2026. Despite indicating that it is primarily the federal government’s responsibility to ensure a favorable election atmosphere, he discouraged the notion of restoring the dissolved HoR and urged top leadership to unite in support of the forthcoming election.
Other party leaders, such as Santa Bahadur Praja, Ranjan Kalakheti, Buddha Lama, and Prakash Bartaula, echoed the sentiment that it is time to strengthen the party organization in accordance with its policies and principles.
In addition, CM Baniya contributed Rs 75,000 from his personal funds to a management committee for the construction of the Manakamana Temple at Manahari.
