Kathmandu: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has emphasized the importance of holding the election to the House of Representatives on the scheduled date to ensure peace and stability in the country. During a meeting with Suhang Nembang, a former member of the House of Representatives, at Singha Durbar, the Prime Minister urged the delegation to prepare diligently for the March 5 election, asserting that the current government was established to facilitate the electoral process.
According to National News Agency Nepal, PM Karki highlighted ongoing efforts to conduct voting, emphasizing that the government aims to foster peace and uphold the rule of law following recent unusual circumstances. She expressed confidence in the elections serving as a foundation for sustainable peace and stability.
Suhang Nembang extended his wishes for the successful conduct of the elections during the meeting. PM Karki’s Private Secretariat reported that the Prime Minister inquired about Suhang’s readiness to participate in the elections, to which Suhang responded affirmatively, noting his preparations. PM Karki encouraged youth participation, stating that young leaders should step forward to bring about meaningful change and lead the nation.
The Prime Minister underscored the necessity of holding the elections at all costs, urging young leaders to take the forefront. She remarked that while experienced leaders could offer valuable guidance, it is the youth who possess the energy and courage to lead effectively.
Additionally, Suhang raised concerns about the need to expedite the reconstruction of highways and bridges in Ilam, which have been damaged by landslides and floods. In response, PM Karki assured that Minister for Physical Infrastructures, Kul Man Ghising, had recently conducted an onsite visit to the affected areas, and the government is taking the issue seriously.
