Kathmandu: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel has emphasized that the prudent use of political freedom is essential for ensuring freedom across all sectors. At a greetings exchange program organized by the National Christian Federation Nepal to mark the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ, the founder of Christianity, Minister Kharel highlighted the need to unlock new avenues of prosperity in the country through the upcoming March 5 elections.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister Kharel asserted that the existence of citizens’ rights is contingent upon the availability of opportunities for the country’s prosperity. He mentioned that fundamental rights and religious freedom are guaranteed when such opportunities are present. Minister Kharel pointed out that adverse political situations have forced younger generations to seek opportunities abroad. He urged for an end to this trend, suggesting that history and the Gen Z revolution provide a chance to elect ideal leaders and leadership.
Minister Kharel criticized traditional political parties for their inability to tackle issues such as corruption, anomalies, injustice, poor governance, irregularities, and inequality. He stressed that it is time for tangible results and called on citizens to remain vigilant while voting, to prevent misuse of political power over the next five years.
Highlighting Nepal’s diverse cultural and religious landscape, Minister Kharel emphasized the importance of preserving shared values. He underscored that all religions advocate for humanity, stating that humanity is the greatest religion for him and should be respected by all.
During the event, Christian leaders extended Christmas wishes and highlighted the ideal messages found in the Bible.
