TU Convocation Ceremony: 16 Thousand Students Conferred on Degrees


Kathmandu: More than 16,300 students graduated today at the 51st Convocation Ceremony of Tribhuvan University. Prime Minister and the Chancellor of the University, Sushila Karki, along with senior figures from the academic world, announced that the students had been conferred degrees.



According to National News Agency Nepal, a total of 89,101 students have graduated from the university, including at the Bachelor’s, Master’s, M Phil, and PhD levels. For the first time in the university’s history, Nobel laureate Japanese Professor Takaaki Kajita served as the chief guest at the ceremony held at the local Dasharath Stadium.



Pro-Chancellor and the Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Mahabir Pun, along with other academics, were present at the ceremony. Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof Deepak Aryal, stated that the university is progressively advancing on the path of improvement and congratulated the students who were conferred degrees on the occasion.
