Kathmandu: The central committee meeting of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is scheduled to be held this afternoon at the party’s central office in Banasthali, Kathmandu. The meeting has been organized to elect senior party leader Balendra Shah as the parliamentary party leader, as stated by Joint General Secretary Bipin Acharya.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the central committee meeting will take place following the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected members of the House of Representatives. The RSP had previously announced Shah as their candidate for Prime Minister in the March 5 House of Representatives elections. With the RSP having emerged as the leading party by securing a total of 182 seats, the formation of the next government under its leadership appears imminent.
Balendra Shah is expected to be unanimously selected as the RSP’s parliamentary leader, positioning him to become the next Prime Minister of Nepal.
