Kathmandu: Nepal Police have handed over a French national found stranded at Pashupatinath temple premises to the Department of Immigration. After a video showing the French national stranded at Pashupatinath was made public, a police team traced him and handed him over to the DoI, spokesperson at the Kathmandu Police, Pawan Kumar Bhattarai said.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the video revealed the French citizen in a vulnerable condition, but investigations confirmed that none of his belongings were stolen or looted. Consequently, the police decided to transfer him to the Department of Immigration.
The police also noted that the French citizen had been residing in Nepal for the past six years with his Nepali spouse. Due to financial difficulties, they had left their passports, mobile phone, laptop, and other personal items at the hotel where they were staying.
