Government Focuses on Health Sector Reforms: Minister Mehta


Kathmandu: Minister for Health and Food Safety Nisha Mehta stated that the government is actively working to enhance the overall health sector. During a meeting and discussion organized with journalists, she emphasized the ministry’s efforts to identify and address existing problems in the health sector while formulating effective future plans.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister Mehta highlighted that health improvement is a key focus of the government’s 100-day governance reforms initiative. She assured that the ministry’s activities would be strengthened through regular coordination, information, and communications.



Secretary at the ministry, Dr. Bikash Devkota, reiterated the government’s commitment to providing basic health services to citizens. He noted that issues within the health insurance program are being addressed, with steps being taken to ensure the accessibility of the health insurance scheme for all.
