Khajura: Khajura Rural Municipality in Banke district has successfully constructed a new road linking Dhawalagiri to Bigaun, providing an alternative route to the existing Nepalgunj-Gulariya Postal Highway. This development aims to enhance connectivity and ease transportation between Nepalgunj and Gulariya in Bardiya.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the newly developed route begins near Adarsha Secondary School within Khajura Rural Municipality-3, extending to Bigaun. The strategic construction of this road is expected to significantly improve travel convenience and accessibility for residents and travelers in the area.
In addition to the new road, efforts are underway to connect all eight wards of Khajura Rural Municipality with a comprehensive blacktopped road network. This initiative is part of a broader plan to expand blacktop roads in each village, aiming to create a ‘dust-free village’ environment. Furthermore, the municipality is working on constructing an improved sewage system to address ongoing inundation problems, thereby providing a long-term solution to these issues.
The ambitious project was realized with an investment of Rs 61.9 million, reflecting the municipality’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure and improving the quality of life for its residents.
