Baglung:Landslides triggered by continuous rainfalls have resulted in the deaths of five people, with one person still missing, after several homes in Baglung were buried.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the incidents occurred in Tamankhola and Nisikhola Rural Municipalities. Superintendent of Police Fanindra Prasai confirmed that in Tamankhola Rural Municipality, four individuals lost their lives and one remains unaccounted for, while another person died in Nisikhola Rural Municipality.
In Dharnasuk of Tamankhola Rural Municipality-3, 80-year-old Buddhiraj Gharti and 66-year-old Bhimdevi Gharti were killed when a landslide buried their house. Similarly, in Santar of Tamankhola Rural Municipality-4, 50-year-old Hastabir Shripali and 65-year-old Udisara Shripali were killed as their home was engulfed by the landslide. Hastabir’s wife is currently missing following the disaster.
Additionally, 50-year-old Suryabahadur Gharti lost his life in Rangil of Nisikhola Rural Municipality-6 when a landslide buried a cowshed.
