Ljubljana:Coordinator of the Nepali Communist Party (NCP), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has emphasized the importance of unity among progressive forces to safeguard the Constitution.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Dahal highlighted the need to protect constitutional rights and the achievements of the federal democratic republic, including sovereignty, secularism, and the inclusive and proportional representation system, to empower the people.
Dahal noted the current political situation as complex, with fundamental rights, independent judiciary, social justice, and the rights of Dalits, women, Madhesi, and oppressed communities facing increasing threats of curtailment. He stated that these achievements were the result of hard struggles and sacrifices, thus necessitating unity to preserve them. He also acknowledged the party’s failure to communicate its performance effectively to the public and called for unity among communist parties to achieve functional unity.
During the event, Madhav Kumar Nepal, co-coordinator of the party, also emphasized the need for unity among communist forces to achieve socialism based on social justice and equality. He urged party leaders and cadres to work diligently to secure more victories in the upcoming local government elections.
Leader Matrika Yadav reminded attendees to prioritize party and societal interests over personal ones.
