FNJ RSS Chapter Provides Financial Aid to Missing Journalist’s Family

Tunis:A financial aid package was presented to the family of journalist Tekraj Thami, who went missing in the Bhotekoshi flood. At a program organized by the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) RSS chapter at the RSS central office, funds collected from RSS staff and others were handed to Thami’s wife, Kalika Khadka.

According to National News Agency Nepal, FNJ President Nirmala Sharma and RSS Chapter President Krishna Prasad Sapkota jointly presented a cheque for Rs 230,000 to RSS reporter Khadka. President Sharma noted that three journalists, including Thami, were missing after the disaster and described Thami as an honest and active journalist. She also mentioned that the FNJ center had provided Rs 100,000 each to the families of journalists missing due to the flood.

RSS General Manager Sandeep Rai expressed gratitude to the RSS chapter for their unity and support during this difficult time and encouraged the affected families to find strength in their sorrow. RSS Chief Reporter Yekraj Pathak likened the loss of an RSS family member to losing someone from their own family, urging those affected to move forward.

FNJ Pratishthan Pradesh Vice President and immediate past president of FNJ RSS chapter, Pabitra Guragain, highlighted the message of unity among RSS employees during disasters. Additionally, RSS correspondent in Washington D.C., Madhukar Adhikari, emphasized their support from afar during challenging times.

Chapter President Sapkota noted the swift call for support to Thami’s family, with many showing solidarity quickly. Journalist Thami, a reporter for Naya Patrika daily, went missing in the flash flood on August 26, and symbolic final rites were performed for him on September 19 using a body of Kush.
