Three including ex-Shibir president on 7-day remand

A Dhaka court today placed three people

including former president of Islami Chhatra Shibir Rashedul Islam Rashed on

seven-day remand in an explosives act.

The two other remanded accused are– Jamaat-e-Islami treasurer Khandaker

Mizanur Rahman and executive committee member Mohammad Abdur Rashid.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Zaki Al Farabi passed the order as police

produced the trio before the court and pleaded to place them on 10-day remand

in the case.

Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) on July 27 arrested them

from an office in Dhanmandi and recovered a couple of cocktails and other

explosive substances from the place.
