RSS annual report presented before Communications Minister Gurung


Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) has presented its annual progress report of the fiscal year 2080/81 BS before Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung.

RSS executive chairperson Dharmendra Jha presented the report containing activities performed in the fiscal year 2080/81 to the Minister at the ministry today.

On the occasion, Minister Gurung, also the government spokesperson, said he was impressed by the RSS-performed activities that has been disseminating factual, objective and credible news and instructed to carry out further constructive works in the coming days as well.

Noting that RSS is the media of the media, Minister Gurung stressed the need for RSS to act as a bridge between the government and the citizens.

On the same occasion, executive chairperson Jha said RSS has been able to adequately carry out works on information dissemination and physical infrastructure development in coordination with and cooperation of the ministry. Jha briefed the minister that R
SS is working to launch 24-hour news service, disseminate news bulletin in at least two mother languages and establish media museum this year.

Also present on the occasion were RSS general manager Siddharaj Rai, board member Krishna Adhikari and administration chief Sheetal Prasad Mahato.

Also today, Jha-led RSS team called on Ministry Secretary Radhika Aryal and congratulated her on assuming the responsibility of the secretary. The team had also briefed her about RSS.
