The French Embassy in Dhaka today
categorically denied rumors circulating on social media that former state
minister Mohammad Ali Arafat is hiding within its premises.
“The rumor propagated on social media that ex-state minister Arafat is hiding
in the French Embassy is a complete lie,” the embassy stated via its official
X account, formerly known as Twitter.
Arafat was the state minister for Information and Broadcasting of the Awami
League government that fell on August 5 following a mass uprising.
