The Loktantrik Samajbadi Party (LSP) has changed its central working committee into the central general convention preparation main committee.
The party is holding its central general convention coming May, for which membership update drive will be launched by mid November.
The central office bearers’ meeting held in Kathmandu on Sept 4-5 took a decision to this effect.
The meeting presided over by party Chairman Mahanth Thakur decided to appeal to all political parties for the collaboration to ensure rights to Madhesi, Tharu and other oppressed people by keeping close watch on amendment of the constitution.
A three member taskforce has been formed by the party to prepare agenda to be raised during the amendment of the national charter. The three members are- senior leader Laxman Lal Karna as the coordinator, and Dan Bahadur Bishwokarma and Parameshwor Sah as the members.
The party has called on all people and political forces to join the collaborative campaign to build a broader political movement.

e LSP also expressed worry over the waning results of secondary education examination (SEE). It concluded that the SEE results were disappointing because of the lack of subject teachers and relevant curricula.
The party demanded the government that it appointed qualified teachers and devised timely curricula.
Similarly, the government was urged to make temporary and long term arrangements for the farmers who lost their crops due to drought.
He also expressed worry over the delay in providing grants to the sugarcane farmers.
