Kansas city: Defending champion Argentina has entered the semifinals of the FIFA World Cup by defeating Switzerland 3-1 today.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Argentina secured their place in the semifinals after an intense match at the Kansas City Stadium in the United States. Key contributions came from Argentina’s Alexis McAllister, Julian Alvarel, and Lautaro Martinez, each scoring a goal to ensure their team’s advancement.
The match began with a goal from McAllister, who scored with a header in the 10th minute. Switzerland managed to equalize in the 67th minute with a goal from Dan Ndoye.
Switzerland’s hopes were further dampened when Breel Embolo received two yellow cards, forcing Switzerland to play with only 10 players from the 72nd minute. As the match was tied, it went into extra time where Alvarel scored in the 112th minute, followed by a decisive shot from Martinez, securing Argentina’s victory.
With this win, Argentina is set to face England in the final.
