Siraha: An arrest warrant has been issued against the Mayor of Siraha Municipality, Dr. Nabin Kumar Yadav, following allegations of assaulting an office assistant.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the arrest warrant was issued after Mayor Yadav allegedly verbally abused and physically attacked office assistant Ram Sharan Yadav, aged 50, while he was recording his attendance on Monday morning. The office assistant reportedly sustained injuries to various parts of his body and is currently receiving medical treatment in Biratnagar, as confirmed by a family source.
A case of mistreatment was lodged against Mayor Dr. Yadav, prompting the District Administration Office in Siraha to issue the arrest warrant, stated Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Basudev Pathak. In light of the warrant, police have commenced efforts to locate and apprehend Mayor Dr. Yadav. Meanwhile, another individual involved in the incident, Rohit Mestar, an employee of the municipality, has already been taken into custody.
