BB asks banks to freeze accounts of Shibli Rubayat, family members

The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) today asked banks to freeze accounts of Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam, former chairman of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC), and his family members.

The central bank has asked banks to suspend locker facilities extended to Shibli and his family members for 30 days since the issuance of the BFIU letter.

Shibli Rubayat resigned from his post on August 10 citing health reasons.
