Beni: The Beni-Jomsom road that connects the Mustang district with the national highway, along with the Beni-Darbang road which links three local levels of the Myagdi district with its district headquarters, has been obstructed by landslides occurring at multiple locations since this morning.
According to National News Agency Nepal, vehicular movement along the Beni-Jomsom road has been brought to a standstill due to landslides at Majhkharja of Raghuganga rural municipality-2, Sukebahar of Annapurna rural municipality-3, and Mahabhir. The District Traffic Police Office, Myagdi detailed the affected areas and the resulting disruption in transit.
Bishal Darji, Chief of the District Traffic Police Office, stated that the Beni-Darbang road has similarly been blocked by landslides at Beni Municipality-4 and Phaparkhet of Mangala rural municipality-2. The obstruction of these key routes has caused significant inconvenience to locals who rely on these roads for daily commuting.
Efforts are actively being made to clear the landslide debris in order to resume traffic on these disrupted roads, as confirmed by the police.
