Benju Sharma to Receive This Year’s BP Literature Prize


Kathmandu: This year’s BP Literature Prize is set to be awarded to senior literary figure Dr. Benju Sharma. The prize, which is established by the Jananayak BP Koirala Memorial Trust, includes a monetary award of Rs 100,000 along with a letter of appreciation. A decision regarding the recipient was made during a meeting of the prize selection committee of the Trust held on Monday.



According to National News Agency Nepal, the BP Senani Samman for this year will be conferred upon Arjun Khadka of Udayapur district. Khadka is being recognized for his significant contributions to the establishment of democracy and will receive a prize of Rs 51,000.



The prize selection committee is coordinated by Ramchandra Pokhrel, with Kiran Yadav and Hari Prava Shrestha Khadgi serving as members. Dr. Benju Sharma and Arjun Khadka are scheduled to receive their awards on September 9. The ceremony, which will take place at the Office of the President, will be graced by the presence of President Ramchandra Paudel, as shared by the Trust.



In the previous year, the Jananayak BP Koirala Memorial Trust honored Dwarika Shrestha from Kathmandu and Bhojraj Bhandari from Kaski.
