Kathmandu: The Inland Revenue Office has honoured the best taxpayers on the occasion of National Tax Day, 2082. Amidst a programme, the Department honoured best taxpayers from various sectors as per the income details of fiscal year, 2080/81.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the Nepal Telecommunications Authority was recognized for being the highest taxpayer in the company category. Other companies receiving accolades include Third Eye International, Dabar Nepal Pvt. Ltd, Orex Nepal Pvt Ltd, Poshak Breeder Farm Pvt Ltd, Nepal Investment Mega Bank, Nobel Medical College Teaching Hospital, Soaltee Hotel Limited, Bhatbhateni Supermarket, Bhotekoshi Power Company Ltd, and IME Limited.
The government also honoured Raj Bahadur Shah for paying the highest individual income tax. Additionally, CDS and Clearing Limited and VF Services Pvt Ltd were acknowledged, with CDS and Clearing Limited paying taxes ranging from Rs 500 million to Rs 1 billion and VF Services Pvt Ltd contributing up to Rs 500 million.
Furthermore, Nepal Telecommunications Company Limited was recognized as the best taxpayer for paying the highest VAT, while Unilever Nepal was honoured for consistently paying the highest tax from 2076 BS to 2082 BS. The Department also commended the Inland Revenue Office, Baglung, for its exemplary performance last year.
