Bhadrapur: The hosts, Bhadrapur Blazers, entered the final of the Bhadrapur Jhapa Gold Cup International Invitation Knockout Football tournament by defeating Crown Bazar Pragati Sangh of Bangladesh. In the first semi-final match played at the Mechi Stadium on Tuesday, organizers Bhadrapur Blazers defeated Bangladesh’s Crown Bazar Pragati Sangh 4-3 in the penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Blazers’ Satyam Sharma, Arman Bidong, Diwas Ura, and Abayomi contributed one each while Kuldip Karki missed the chance to contribute a goal for the team. Likewise, Sayed, S Silla, and Saidostone scored in the penalty shootout while Usof MB and Ibrahim missed the chance.
Earlier, Blazers’ Satyam Sharma scored in the 25th minute of the game to give his team the lead before halftime, but Crown Bazaar’s Sakil scored in the 62nd minute, making a 1-1 draw in the match. Organizer Bhadrapur Blazers will compete in the final with the winner of the semi-final to be held on Wednesday between Jhapa 11 and Bhutan’s Daga United FC.
The title winner of the tournament would bag Rs 1.3 million in cash, a trophy, and medals, while the runner-up team would get Rs 700,000, a trophy, and a medal. Similarly, the outstanding player of the tournament would receive Rs 105,000, while the outstanding goalkeeper, highest goal scorer, emerging player, and coach will take home Rs 25,000 each. The player of the match of every game would get Rs 21,000.
