Kathmandu: Dead bodies of 538 people have been recovered so far in different districts affected by the Bhotekoshi flash flood, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA).
According to National News Agency Nepal, the details about the search, rescue, and relief efforts released by the Authority as of 3:00 pm today indicate that 12 dead bodies were recovered in Rasuwa, 37 in Nuwakot, 33 in Dhading, 46 in Gorkha, 134 in Nawalparasi (East), 27 in Nawalparasi (West), 28 in Tanahu, and 121 in Chitwan.
NDRRMA Spokesperson Shanti Mahat shared that 977 people have gone missing due to the flood. Among them, 28 are from Nepal Police, 45 from Nepali Army, 13 from Armed Police Force Nepal, 15 from the customs office, and four from the immigration office.
Additionally, 161 people have gone missing from Rasuwa, one from Nuwakot, and 66 from Makawanpur. Furthermore, 517 foreigners as well as 127 Nepalis living abroad, who came to visit Nepal, have also gone missing in the flash flood, the Authority added.
According to the NDRRMA, 73 people sustained injuries from the flood. Among the injured, 43 are from Rasuwa, three from Dhading, and 27 from Nuwakot.
