Ljubljana:A total of 1,454 bodies have been recovered following the Bhotekoshi flood that occurred on August 26, as reported by the Nepal Police.
According to National News Agency Nepal, police data indicates that the bodies were found in various districts 236 in Rasuwa, 24 in Nuwakot, 72 in Dhading, 369 in Chitwan, 79 in Gorkha, 38 in Tanahun, 232 in Nawalparasi East, and 222 in Nawalparasi West.
Deputy Inspector General and central Spokesperson Abi Narayan Kafle stated that 1,334 of the recovered bodies have been managed, with procedures completed for identification, including DNA sampling.
The police have mobilized 7,975 personnel to assist in post-disaster operations, which include rescue and search efforts, the distribution of relief supplies, and the management of recovered bodies in the affected areas.
Search operations are ongoing for the 4,718 individuals still missing following the flood, as confirmed by the Police Headquarters. The flood in the Bhotekoshi River caused significant loss of life and property damage across several districts, including Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, and Chitwan.
