Kathmandu: Bhupendra Gurung is set to represent Nepal in the 15th edition of the Golden Dragon Championship, which will be held at Arcadia High School in California, USA. He is scheduled to depart for the United States on Wednesday.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Bhupendra will compete in two categories: Tai Chi and Traditional Chinese Forms for athletes aged 36 years and above. The tournament is organized by the Traditional Chinese Martial Arts Federation, USA, and will feature over 250 athletes from 30 countries.
Bhupendra has a commendable track record, having won three gold medals in international competitions. His accolades include gold medals at the World Championships in Germany in 2018, the 7th World Kung Fu Championship in Thailand in 2019, and the European Championship in the United Kingdom in 2022. Additionally, he served as a judge at the 14th National Kung Fu Championship in Lucknow, India, in 2022.
