Bheemdatta: The last rites of Bipin Joshi were conducted this morning on the bank of the Mahakali River. His remains were transported to his residence at Bheemdatta Municipality-3 on Monday evening from Israel, where he had been studying agriculture under the Learn and Earn programme.
According to National News Agency Nepal, a funeral procession preceded the cremation, during which a contingent of the Armed Police Force honoured him with a guard of honour. Deputy Superintendent of Police Sagar Bohora of the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, confirmed these events.
Local representatives, officials from administrative bodies and security agencies, and a large number of residents gathered to pay their last respects to Joshi. Joshi lost his life while being held hostage by the Hamas group for the past two years. During the Hamas attack in Israel two years ago, seven other students from Sudurpaschim Province also lost their lives.
