BNP-Jamaat won’t be allowed to foil polls thru anarchy: Hasan

Information and Broadcasting Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud today said BNP is giving messages of carrying out arson attacks and anarchies again using Jamaat to foil the next elections.

“BNP-Jamaat would not be allowed to rig the polls through creating anarchies,” he said while addressing an extending meeting of Awami League district unit at Shilpakala Academy here this evening.

The minister said Jamaat has announced to resist the next polls from a rally on Saturday in Dhaka. In fact, it was the message of BNP and they indicated that they will carry out arson attacks and violence, he added.

Hasan said BNP-Jamaat wants to create a special situation through carrying out anarchies and they want to catch fish from muddle water. They know that they have no chance in the polls, he said.

For this, he said they (BNP-Jamaat) are taking preparation to rig the polls. But they would not be allowed to do that, he added.

The minister said, “I, as an activist of Awami League, would like to say that proper actions should be taken against those who will announce to resist the polls. In fact, they become crazy.”

He said they (Jamaat) burned holy Quran, musallis who were returning from Biswa Ijtema, burned about 3,500 innocent people, of them 500 had died.

The minister urged all to be united to resist the evil forces.

He said there is no strength to defeat united AL in the polls and the party will achieve landslide victory in the next elections under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Hasan put emphasize on holding regular extending, general and working committee meetings at district level.

Lawmaker Asaduzzaman Noor inaugurated the meeting with AL district unit Dewan Kamal Ahmed in the chair. General secretary Advocate Mamtazul Haque conducted it.

AL organising secretary Sujit Roy Nandi addressed the meeting as the key speaker while central committee members Hosne Ara Lutfa Dalia and Advocate Safura Begum Rumi addressed it as special guests.
