Dhaka: A six-member BNP delegation led by health affairs secretary Dr. Rafiqul Islam today handed over the party’s proposals to the Health Reform Commission Office at the Shaheed Abu Sayeed International Convention Center in Minto Road here. The delegation included BNP Deputy Health Affairs Secretary SM Rafiqul Islam Bachchu, Professor Dr. Rafiq Al Kabir Labu, Dr. Parvez Reza Kakon, Deputy Planning Affairs Secretary Nazrul Islam, and Nursing Affairs Secretary Jahanara Khatun.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the BNP had earlier on Tuesday presented an outline for reforming the country’s health sector. The key proposal in this outline is the establishment of a universal healthcare system similar to the UK’s National Health Service (NHS). This system aims to ensure quality medical facilities for all citizens, particularly focusing on providing access to healthcare for poor and destitute individuals.
