Gorkha: Bodies of two Italian climbers were recovered at Pangbari mountain of Gorkha district. Both of them had gone missing in the mountain for the past seven days.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the bodies of Stefano Farronato, 67, and Alessandro Caputo, 37, were recovered at the camp-1 of Pangbari mountain, said Information Officer at the District Police office, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Raj Kumar Shrestha. The bodies were buried by snow, he added. The mortal remains of both Italian climbers were airlifted to Samagoun.
Three Italian climbers and a Nepali helper were stranded at camp-1 and base camp since Wednesday due to snowfall at the time when they were climbing Pangbari mountain. Another Italian climber, Velter Paralion, who was stranded with them, was already rescued on Sunday, added Shrestha.
Similarly, Nepali nationals Pemba Renzi Sherpa, Dawa Chhiri Sherpa, and Pasang Tamang were also rescued and airlifted to Kathmandu with Italian climber Paralion.
