Kathmandu: The Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce (FNCCI) and the Federation of Nepali Industry and Entrepreneurship have condemned the violent incidents that occurred at Tinkune on Friday, calling for appropriate compensation for the damages inflicted.
According to National News Agency Nepal, both organizations released separate press statements demanding strict action against those responsible for the violence. They emphasized that while everyone has the right to organize and participate in peaceful demonstrations, it is imperative not to infringe upon the rights of citizens and business owners to conduct their activities.
The business groups expressed serious concern over the attacks on private and public property, incidents of looting, and acts of arson. “The loot, arson, and attack on private property and loss of human life are condemnable,” the FNCCI stated.
Additionally, the Federation urged all parties to ensure a fair environment for businesses to operate. It described the criminal activities in the Tinkune and Koteshwor areas as deplorable and noted that such incidents harm the national economy.
Both federations insisted that the government take decisive action against those involved in the crimes. They also encouraged industrialists and entrepreneurs to unite in protecting and strengthening the republic.
