Kathmandu: A pedestrian died after being hit by a car in the federal capital. Two others, including a traffic police officer, were injured in the accident that occurred at Kesharmahal Road, Kathmandu on Tuesday afternoon.
According to National News Agency Nepal, spokesperson at the Valley Traffic Police Office, SP Naresh Raj Subedi, stated that an EV car (Ba Pra 01-030 Cha 2348) struck the pedestrian and an on-duty traffic police officer. The identity of the male pedestrian who lost his life in the accident has not been ascertained yet. He was seriously injured in the incident and succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the Trauma Centre in Kathmandu.
The head constable of traffic police from Police Range, Durbarmagar, Parshuram Thakur, and the car driver, Suresh Raj Kalika, sustained injuries in the incident. The car reportedly hit two individuals before ramming into a wall, as confirmed by the police.
