Cairo: The Chandragiri Municipality is set to present its Voluntary Local Review (VLR) report at the 12th World Urban Forum (WUF), which begins today in Cairo, Egypt. The global event, organized under the auspices of UN HABITAT, will continue until November 8.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the VLR report from Chandragiri focuses on localizing specific thematic areas of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Mayor Ghanashyam Giri of Chandragiri Municipality traveled to Cairo on Saturday to attend the conference. Besides presenting the VLR report, Mayor Giri will share insights on the municipality’s ongoing efforts in sustainable development.
Chief Administrative Officer Hemraj Aryal emphasized that the VLR report is instrumental in achieving the sustainable development goals by 2030. Aryal stated, “Our main goal is to create a sustainable city by localizing sustainable development goals, as our overall policies, plans, and programs are focused on this. This is a great opportunity for our munici
pality to be presenting the report at the World Urban Forum.”
