Kathmandu: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a chargesheet against eight individuals, including the then Chief Administrative Officer of Tripurasundari Municipality in Dolpa, at the special court today. The charges are related to irregularities in upgrading the road from Khadang to Lha in Ward No. 5 of the municipality during the fiscal year 2078/79.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the chargesheet includes Lal Prasad Pokharel, the then Acting Chief Administrative Officer, Engineer Karna Bahadur Karki, Administrative Officer Hirachandra Dharala, Education Officer Bhim Bahadur Thapa, Senior Accounts Assistant Rupchandra Budha, and MIS Operator Harichandra Bista. These individuals are accused of committing irregularities during the road project.
Further, the chargesheet also names Shishir Kumar Gurung, a member of the bid evaluation committee involved in evaluating the project’s procurement process, the project’s engineer from Divyanirman Sewa Pvt. Ltd. Dunai Dolpa, and Bhimraj Neupane of the construction company as defendants. The CIAA has sought a fine of Rs. 5,589,063 from the accused under Section 17 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059 BS, stated Rajendra Kumar Poudel, spokesperson of the Commission.
