Dubai: Chief Justice (CJ) Syed Refaat Ahmed today said the justice system of the future will be further strengthened if the technological innovation could be utilized by tackling the complexities of the digital era. The chief justice called for increasing mutual cooperation among the governments, legal and technology experts in this regard.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Chief Justice Syed Rifaat Ahmed made these remarks while addressing as the main discussant at the World Regulatory Forum of the Global Government Summit 2025 held in Dubai, a Supreme Court release said here today. Justice Syed Rifaat highlighted the importance of global cooperation in formulating the necessary regulatory impact assessments in the context of using modern technology responsibly.
He shed light on the challenges and opportunities of modern technology, especially artificial intelligence (AI), and the need for regulatory impact assessments and global cooperation in creating the necessary legal framework to regulate the use of AI in various fields around the world. The session was chaired by Maryam Al Hammadi, Minister of State and Secretary General of the Cabinet of the United Arab Emirates. Leaders, jurists and intellectuals from different countries of the world were present at the session.
In his speech, the Chief Justice emphasized the need to create a modern legal framework that is compatible, inclusive, and adaptable to rapidly changing technologies. He noted that in the modern world, AI is playing an important role in various fields including healthcare, education, economy, and administration.
