NEW DELHI: Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS) General Ashok Raj Sigdel of Nepal held a significant meeting with his Indian counterpart, General Upendra Dwivedi, in New Delhi on Wednesday. The discussions are part of CoAS Sigdel’s official visit to India, aimed at strengthening military cooperation and addressing regional security challenges.
According to National News Agency Nepal, CoAS Sigdel also engaged in separate meetings with key Indian officials, including National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff Anil Chauhan, and both the Defence and Foreign Secretaries. These meetings underscore the importance of bilateral military dialogue between Nepal and India amid evolving geopolitical dynamics in South Asia.
In addition to high-level meetings, CoAS Sigdel paid homage to fallen soldiers by laying a wreath at the National War Memorial in New Delhi. The Indian Army honored him with a guard of honour, reflecting the close military ties between the two neighboring nations.
