Lalitpur: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel has underscored the importance of preserving and promoting Nepal’s unique historical sites and heritages. During an inspection visit to Patan Durbar Square, Minister Kharel emphasized the need to prioritize the preservation efforts of Lalitpur’s cultural treasures, which he described as a prominent location for ancient heritages, arts, and cultures.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister Kharel highlighted the significance of promoting Nepal on the global stage through the conservation of its historical and traditional arts and cultures. He stressed the importance of internationalizing the cultural and food heritages of Lalitpur. Minister Kharel also noted that the diverse ethnic communities, languages, cultures, and heritages represent the unique identity of the region and advocated for unity among all groups to protect and promote Lalitpur city’s cultural heritage.
Furthermore, Minister Kharel called for collaboration between federal, provincial, and local governments to ensure the overall development of Lalitpur alongside the preservation of both tangible and intangible heritages. During his visit, he also toured Krishna Mandir and Patan Durbar Museum, where he observed the Craft and Cultural Festival showcasing traditional arts and cultures.
