Kathmandu: An agreement has been signed between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) to run different programmes, including video service, for the current fiscal year. RSS General Manager Sandip Rai and Under Secretary Ram Krishna Aryal on behalf of the Ministry signed the agreement at the Ministry today.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the Ministry will provide Rs 16.4 million, including Rs 10 million specifically for the video service, as well as to disseminate news in different mother languages and Nepali news round the clock. Additionally, the budget will cover the management of communication tools and their repair and maintenance.
RSS General Manager Rai stated that the funds received from the Ministry as grants will be allocated quarterly. He clarified that the organization is tasked with implementing the programmes to fulfill the goals of programme-related indicators as per the bilateral agreement.
