Continuous Monitoring and Surveillance is Ongoing: Home Minister Aryal


Kathmandu: Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has announced that continuous monitoring and supervision of relief and rescue operations are being conducted in the aftermath of the recent heavy rainfall disaster. In a video message, Aryal provided updates on the ongoing efforts for disaster risk reduction, emphasizing the government’s commitment to overseeing these critical activities.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Home Minister Aryal highlighted that the ministry, along with its subordinate bodies, has been proactive in issuing warnings since the onset of continuous rain from the evening of October 3. This early warning system is part of the government’s strategy to mitigate the impact of such natural calamities.



Furthermore, Aryal disclosed that a review meeting was convened with chief district officers from all 77 districts, security agencies, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the National Risk Reduction and Management Authority, and other relevant agencies. The meeting aimed to evaluate the progress of ongoing relief and rescue efforts and to strengthen coordination among the various entities involved.
