Cooperative Fraud Inmate Escapes Nakkhu Jail, Arrested in Lalitpur


Lalitpur: Police have successfully apprehended Kedar Nath Sharma, the former proprietor of Shiva Shikhar Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Bhaktapur, who had escaped from Nakkhu jail. Sharma was detained on charges related to cooperative fraud and managed to flee during a Gen-Z protest.



According to National News Agency Nepal, a team from the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police captured Sharma in Sanepa, Lalitpur, and subsequently returned him to the relevant jail authorities. Dharma Raj Bhandari, the Officiating Spokesperson of the Central Investigation Bureau, confirmed the arrest.



The Jail Management Department has reported that approximately 7,000 inmates remain at large.
