Kathmandu: Coordinator of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Chairman of the CPN (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal, held a discussion on preparation for the unity convention, declaration and interim statute.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the two parties have already decided on unification. During the discussion held at the central office of the Unified Socialist on Monday, the two leaders focused on the formation of a central committee, the unity assembly of eight leftist forces scheduled for November 5, and the endorsement of the interim statute, as shared by a Unified Socialist leader Taj Mohammad Minya.
Minya further shared that Dahal and Nepal also reviewed the latest political developments and leftist polarization, along with national and international updates. The ideological basis and process following the formal unification of the Maoist Centre and the Unified Socialist were also key points of discussion in the meeting.
Eight leftist political forces, including the Maoist Centre and the Unified Socialist, have principally agreed on their unification.
