Country Progresses as PM Oli Urges Youth to Stay Hopeful

Jorpati: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has assured the youth population that the nation is on the path to prosperity, urging them not to lose hope. Speaking at the silver jubilee celebration of Nepal Medical College and Teaching Hospital, PM Oli emphasized the significant development strides the country has made, countering the narrative that the government has been inactive.

According to National News Agency Nepal, PM Oli highlighted that nation-building is a complex task requiring serious efforts, and he called on citizens to support the government’s initiatives. He stressed the government’s responsibility in providing basic needs such as food, clothing, and education to those in need, while also asserting that scholarships should not be handed out to those who can afford their tuition fees.

The Prime Minister advocated for a supportive environment in which both national and international students can pursue higher education by ensuring additional facilities and quotas in both government and private medical colleges. He clarified that private educational institutions should not be managed as trusts and emphasized the importance of stability in the education sector.

PM Oli also addressed the issue of teacher quality, stating that unqualified teachers should not receive higher salaries, and students should not be held accountable for the inadequate performance of educators. Reflecting on his previous tenure, he noted the laying of the foundation stones for 396 hospitals in a single day but acknowledged the need for more effective progress.

The event concluded with PM Oli unveiling the Hospital’s Silver Jubilee Souvenir publication.
