Kathmandu: Chairman of CPN (Maoist Centre) and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has emphasized the necessity of addressing the demands of agitating schoolteachers without delay. Speaking at the training gathering of Newa: Mukti Morcha in Kathmandu, Prachanda asserted his party’s support for the schoolteachers’ cause, urging prompt action to resolve their issues.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Prachanda revealed that discussions are ongoing concerning the role of the opposition party in applying pressure on the government to ensure the teachers’ concerns are addressed. This comes in the context of community schoolteachers taking to the streets in the capital city for a week, demanding the issuance of the Federal Education Act.
The teachers’ demonstrations have highlighted the urgent need for legislative action, as they continue to press for changes that would improve the educational landscape in the country.
