Democratic Thought Society Calls for Peaceful Resolution to National Crisis


Kathmandu: The Democratic Thought Society has made a public appeal for the resolution of the country’s current crisis through peaceful dialogue and democratic processes. In a statement released today, the Society emphasized the importance of civil society organizations remaining united and proactive in seeking solutions.



According to National News Agency Nepal, the Society expressed confidence that political parties, civil society, and legitimate state mechanisms would actively and effectively guide the country forward. The Society urged all concerned parties to pursue a political solution through constitutional and democratic channels.



The statement highlighted the unanticipated loss of lives and properties during the events of September 8-9, which have led to a period of uncertainty. The Society underscored that violence in any form is unacceptable to humanity.



Signed by Chair Kul Chandra Wagle, the release extended heartfelt tributes to those who lost their lives during the peaceful protests of Gen Z on the previous Monday and Tuesday. The Society also conveyed condolences to the bereaved families and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
