Kathmandu: Deputy Speaker Indira Rana Magar today left here for South Africa to attend a high-level dialogue on democracy taking place in Pretoria on June 19-20. She is scheduled to participate in discussions focused on “Re-Imagining Democracy in Africa: Comparative Experiences from the Global South.”
According to National News Agency Nepal, the event is being organised by the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance, the Open Society Foundation, and the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, South Africa. The dialogue aims to explore various democratic experiences and practices from the Global South, emphasizing comparative approaches.
The Deputy Speaker is scheduled to return home on June 22.
