DMP Files 1954 Cases for Violating Traffic Rules in Dhaka


Dhaka: The Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) Traffic Division has taken significant action by filing a total of 1954 cases in a single day for violations of traffic rules across the capital.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, this information was confirmed through a press release issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Media and Public Relations Division) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Muhammad Talebur Rahman. The press release highlighted that the cases were filed, and fines were collected as part of a regular drive conducted on February 12 to address traffic rule violations.



During the enforcement drive, authorities impounded 185 vehicles and towed 45 others. The DMP emphasized that this initiative is part of an ongoing effort to enforce discipline on Dhaka’s busy streets and ensure adherence to traffic regulations. The statement from the DMP also noted that the drive will continue in the future to maintain order and safety on the roads.
