DSE extends gaining streak


Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) today also witnessed

an upward trend like earlier as investors continued their buying spree on

large-cap issues amid optimism.

DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 17.57

points or 0.30 per cent to settle at 5,777.96. Two other indices also ended

higher with the DSE 30 Index, comprising blue chips, rose 12.49 points to

finish at 2,109.45 and the DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 14.30 points to

close at 1,288.13.

Out of 395 issues traded, 262 advanced, 93 declined and 40 issues remained

unchanged on the DSE trading floor.

Daily trade turnover increased to Taka 7,186.30 million on the country’s

premier bourse which was Taka 6,743.88 million at the previous session of the

week.

GP dominated the turnover chart, closely followed by BRACBANK, LINDEBD,

IBNSINA and ISLAMIBANK.

GRAMEENS2 was the day’s top gainer rising 9.77 per cent while KBPPWBIL was

the worst loser shedding 9.95 percent.

But, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) ended sharply
lower with the CSE All

Share Price Index – CASPI -losing 10.93 points to settle at 16,175.88 and the

Selective Categories Index – CSCX shedding 2.64 points to close at 9,771.09.

Of the issues traded, 148 declined, 69 advanced and 25 issues remained

unchanged on the CSE trading floor.

The port city’s bourse traded 41.79 lakh shares and mutual fund units with

turnover value of Taka 12.03 crore.
