Kathmandu: The Election Commission has called on political parties wishing to participate in the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) and National Assembly (NA) elections to register. The Commission has announced specific registration periods for each election, highlighting the procedural requirements for participation.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the Commission issued a notice stating that party registration is open from November 17 to 26 for the HoR election and from November 17 to 23 for the NA election. The notice specifies the need for parties to submit applications along with essential documentation, including a decision by the party’s central committee and an annual audit report.
Furthermore, the Commission has outlined that if multiple parties plan to contest the HoR election using the same symbol, they must provide detailed information in their application. The notice also requests submission of the party’s constitution, regulations, manifesto, and both physical and electronic samples of the election symbol.
Elections for one-third of the NA seats, which will become vacant from March 4, 2026, are scheduled for January 25, while the election for the Member of the House of Representatives is set for March 5, 2026.
