Effluent from Industries in Ramgram Poses Threat to Health and Environment.

Ramgram: The industries located at Nadwa of Ramgram municipality-10 in Paschim Nawalparasi district have polluted the vicinity with effluents, thereby jeopardizing human health, livestock, and vegetation. The waste water emanated from the industries has not only polluted land but also spread a horrible stench. The people have lodged complaints against the polluting industries at the District Administration Office and Ramgram Municipality.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Sandip Yadav from Palhinandan rural municipality-6 reported that the waste emanating from the local industries had severely polluted the water, which is mixed with chemicals and emits a foul odor. The impact of this pollution is far-reaching, as even livestock have died after consuming the toxic water, with crops and vegetation also suffering damage.

The management of drainpipes in the area is alarmingly haphazard, with waste being emptied into local streams and rivers. Yadav emphasized that both the local authority and the District
Administration Office have been alerted to the growing pollution crisis.

Several industries, including Ruslan Vodka, Varun Beverage, Lumbini Paper Mill, and Goenka Pvt, have been identified as sources of the wastewater being released into water bodies, directly impacting human and livestock health, as reported by Dharendra Yadav from Palhinandan.
